Talkin' About Revolution by Tracy Chapman
Don't you know
They're talkin' bout a revolution
It sounds like a whisper
Don't you know
They're talkin' about a revolution
It sounds like a whisper
While they're standing in the welfare lines
Crying at the doorsteps of those armies of salvation
Wasting time in the unemployment lines
Sitting around waiting for a promotion
Poor people gonna rise up
And get their share
Poor people gonna rise up
And take what's theirs
Don't you know
You better run, run, run...
Oh I said you better
Run, run, run...
Finally the tables are starting to turn
Talkin' bout a revolution
Hopefully in 2008....

Kerry is conceding.
who taught you how to lie so well and to believe in each and every word you say?
I cannot believe the stupidity of our so-called democracy for those who voted Bush. Grrr.
Looks like he's going to win.
BUT - there is always hope in Ohio, even if it's a slim shot. This is NOT good.

We have a "bulletin board" at work and somebody posted this:
I didn't know we could use the Bulletin Board as a forum to express our political views.
Sometimes, it's better to keep your political views to yourself.
I responded back to her - not the bulletin board to maintain some sort of privacy.
"you know what?
i personally disagree with you. why? because we all have to read all the other people's stuff that they are selling (which is mainly junk) - so if you dont like to read the subject line that has a "political" reference, don't open it."
She responded back: I could care less.
I responded back: then dont make a big stink of it on the bb.
She responded back: Let me clarify: I could care less what YOU think.
I will not be responding anymore to your attacks on me personally.
I responded back: Not attacking, just simply stating a fact. Practice what you preach.
If she thinks that I personally "attacked" her - she is very thin skinned, in my opinion.
Get real, you conservative ultra-christian biotch!

October 31st, 2004
my neighbor downstairs tried to lock me out - haha
i had to knock on the door to let him open the door ......it was cold outside!
remind me to bring my keys if i go down for a smoke
thank you jesus, i am finally moved
after 14 1/2 hours of moving stuff into this house, over $1,478.43 in moving expenses and other miscellaneaous stuff, i am in dearborn - MINUS a couch. and MINUS a bedroom set - had to leave everything behind because the fuckers wouldn't move into this place, too small.
the meeting with my landlady when i gave the keys back -- she is very upset that I was leaving...but I told her that I had to get out of that neighborhood, it was just way too loud for me...and I rather live in a different city which is still city like yet suburban.
so i gave her the keys and she looked at the couch and she was like - well i'll find someone who will take it, it's a nice looking couch...blah blah blah
bedroom set - well too big to fit in this place so i had to give it away to someone who needs it more...i guess i'll have have to find a cheaper one....not on my priorities at the moment.
lets see what else, AH....
i'm tired and drained
long exhausting weekend........i need a day off just to recooperate.
time to go find a couch.
I'm homeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee : )
Pictures soon to come.
I'm about 60% unpacked. just bedromo stuff is sitting on the floor at the moment.
i'm tired. :( Have I mentioned that lol

|03:01 am - yeah you know you've been waiting for it|
it's been a while since I posted anything good.
well let's see.
I took the day off tomorrow to get a few things settled -- this girl from freecycle on yahoo is going to pick up the 2 chairs that I had available since I don't have any room in the new place for them -- I mean they were comfy but I rather give them to someone who needs them rather than throw them in the garbage.
So in exchange, she's gonna help me move the new couch and take the chairs and the extra end table I'm giving away.
I still have to figure out how to unscrew this table...haha i'm such a dork but I have no idea how to do it. Probably something to do with the bolts or some shit like that.
I was fast asleep this evening when miah1979 decided to give me a ring but the phone that I have - well its battery life is finally going down under so I think I may just get another phone tomorrow or some shit like that -- not sure.
This year has been nothing for a pain in the ass - I CANNOT WAIT for 2005. Hopefully it'll be a much better year. And would be nice to have someone special in my life, so whatever happens, happens - I'm not going to be looking or nothing like that - everything happens for a reason as I have noticed this last year.
I have a lot of good things coming in November/December - mamaperv is coming up to visit me - HEY guess what lexa - i have 2 more live DVD"s coming my way :) AND my cousin and her friend cari and their daughters are coming to visit me for thanksgiving -- my mom tentatively is coming for the Christmas party at work this year -- everybody is so excited they finally get to see her, you know I talk so much of her at work so she is kinda well-known in my department.
I guess I'm ready to date again. Not sure who though. I've noticed as I lost weight, more guys are more attracted to me now that they see my recent pictures they are like oh you look so good -- so what the hell, i was nasty lookin when I was a bit bigger? fuck that. they can go to hell.
But yeah - I'm glad everything is coming to a close. I called to shut off the electric/gas and phone in this place.
i should get to bed...need to wake up very soon to get to dearborn at 8am for stupid comcast. Grr for 8am watch them NOT show up til 12 lol
Good night peeps.

New letters on www.nataliemerchant.com
This one I really like the best - seems that Natalie will be voting for John Kerry as she says. :)
this is what I really love about her:
I'm sorry if I've lost the support of anyone who didn't want to hear Ron Daniels of CCR talk about torture in US prisons and abroad or Julia Butterfly Hill of COG talk about clear cutting and old growth logging or me stating that our President had lied to us about the motives for going to war or my holding up a peace banner. But I don't plan to stop writing, singing or talking about the hope of living in a more just and sane world.
BOSTON, you suck.
I wanted the Cardinals to win..........
Boston just sucks. Well except for Cambridge ;-)
better luck next time Cards.

I'm pissy/moody/irritable today - especially at work - people get on my friggin' nerves - i work with lazy people who just take their fucking time -- I can knock out the same amount of work that they do 300% faster.
Work SUCKS - oh my god I have to help that same psychopath again. I will work with him on one condition, that I work from the center and not directly with him --
Thank you mamaperv for my new layout -- everyone should check it out - it's very cool...very me...very natalie! lol

|03:29 pm - Sad...|
I remember going here all the time as a kid and my high school days.
This had to be one of the most coolest places to go eat - very spectacular, food was alright, but the atmosphere was GREAT and they served drinks even when I wasn't 21 haha :P
But yeah, sad to see that this great landmark in Jersey City is gone.
Jersey City landmark eatery is now history -- Canton opened in '28 was shut this fall after owner, manager died
Saturday, October 23, 2004
By Molly Bloom -- Journal staff writer
Though the menu outside the Canton Restaurant still offers pork "egg fo young" for $5.75, the doors of the landmark second-story restaurant on Bergen Avenue closed forever this fall after the deaths of an owner and a longtime manager.
Neither the current owner nor any surviving relatives of the late owner could be reached for comment. But the doors to the restaurant, which opened in 1928 as the Canton Tea Garden, have remained closed for several months.
The restaurant got a facelift 10 years ago and reopened under its current name, with an expanded menu offering Sichuan and Hunan items in addition to the Cantonese and Mandarin fare it had always offered.
At that time, owner Tommy Tang told a reporter the secret to the Canton's success: "We have a reputation. Everybody knows the Canton," he said. "If you are a resident of Jersey City, come here."
Up 28 white marble steps from the street, the dimly-lit second-floor restaurant featured red dark wood paneling, hanging red paper lanterns with gold tassels and attentive red-jacketed waiters.
As a 1991 reviewer put it, "The food is OK, but the atmosphere is spectacular."
The Journal Square landmark was known as the place for celebrities - Wesley Snipes, Patrick Swayze and Robin Williams brought crowds to Journal Square when "To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything, Julie Newmar" was filmed at the Canton in 1994, and in 1998, Hugh Grant and Elizabeth Hurley dined there while filming "Mickey Blue Eyes."
But it was also known for celebrations.
Josephine Merdo of Jersey City said she'd been going to the Canton since her graduation from School 11 on Bergen Avenue. Merdo held her bridal shower at the restaurant in 1952 - and her 50th wedding anniversary party in 2002.
"Many years ago, that was the place to have your shower," she said. "There was hardly any other place . Now, I don't know where we'll go. We'll have to go to Secaucus, I guess."
Other Jersey City residents also remember the Canton primarily for its refusal decades ago to serve blacks, said James Parker, 89.
"If you ordered a meal, you couldn't sit down," he said. "You had to stand in the back to eat it . The NAACP sent squads down to sit at these tables and the most they would serve was a glass of water. They would never give them service," Parker said.
In recent years, patrons of Loew's Jersey Theater - another Journal Square landmark - often dined at the Canton for a truly historic experience.
"It's very unfortunate because whenever we do our shows, one of the favorite places our customers want to go is the Canton," said Colin Egan, director of the Loew's.
Robert Braha, an owner of several Journal Square clothing stores, has seen businesses come and go in the area over the years. "We lost a lot of office buildings around here," he said. "We have to recreate the night life."
RIP CANTON...you guys were the best restaurant in the area for a long time.

8th or 9th song at the Natalie concert - I think after Wonder...
after when she sings, "when the waters run high." and the band starts to pick up the tempo...
somebody starts to lift up their skirt and starts to dance on our side of the stage
makes mamaperv scream uncontrollably.
makes chriscatatonic scream with mamaperv harder.
I must record it on .wav format for those who want to hear two crazy people in heat in that minute of pure craziness.
I assure everyone would think that we were crazy. I think we made the rest of the audience crazy lol cuz they started to woo too!
I think vally1978 may have whoo'd a little.
but yeah....its a flashback alright. those twirls and lifting up the skirt....made both of us obsessed, wonderful caring NAM fans.
and this entry was made to make mamaperv's moodiness subside for a bit to think of the best concert thus far.....hang in there sweetie.
